As a registered, practicing
pharmacist, health care professional, and student of
alternative and complimentary holistic health promotion remedies
and herbal dietary supplements for over twenty years, I
have seen the negative health effects of misusing and
abusing our powers of our mind, body, heart, and soul.
Many of
those years I spent working in the world famous Texas Medical Center
here in Houston, Texas. During that time I received my
Diploma of Homeopathic Pharmacy (DHPH) from the British
Institute of Homeopathy and a Vitalist Certificate in
the use of herbal preparations. I am also a practicing member of
the Eastern Orthodox Church (Antiochian Archdioceses)
As I
became more involved in the practices of Eastern
Orthodox Christianity, I noticed a direct correlation
with my overall health and sense of well being. I
became intuitively aware of the health impact
of negative emotions. My study of stress began
to focus on replacing negative, stressful emotions with
positive emotions. I began to understand the
importance of controlling and centering the attention,
which is a sublte faculty of the spirit, in the heart. I
began to move from a cerebro-centeric paradigm to a
cardio-centeric paradigm.
My
study of Christian origins has revealed to me the surprising
fact that early Christianity was not a religion as we
understand the word today. It was, rather, a sustainable
therapeutic
program to heal fallen human nature and prepare it for
entry into the Kingdom of God. The main focus was the
healing of the human soul. Baptism was the
fundamental entrance mystery into this Kingdom, prepared
for by repentance (the Greek d metanoia) and
remission of sin.
People
are sin positive. Sin is negative energy that we all
have in varying degrees, it is not just about morality. We are all in toxic conditions.
Negative entities, in the form or negative thoughts and
emotions, can stimulate present negative conditions
through our imagination. The Hebrew writers and prophets
consider sin to have entered human nature with the Fall.
Ultimately, stress is caused by sin.
But
what do we mean by sin? Sin is a metaphysical energy or
force that we inherit at birth which predisposes our
personality and physical body to negative states and
emotions that contribute, and to some degree
cause, disorders and illnesses. These conditions, if not correctly treated, will
deteriorate our quality of life. These conditions can cause us to lose our balance in life.
Think
of it this way. We know that computers have settings. So
does our soul and body interactions - our human nature.
At birth, our soul and body interaction are controlled
by default settings that can be caused by genetic dispositions,
the mother's condition, pre- and post natal care, and a
variety of other factors.
But we also inherit a primal
and metaphysical condition that in the West has come to
be called original sin and in the Eastern Orthodox
Church ancestral sin. This Sin having it's
origins in the Fall of human nature from it's divine
origins.
This
Fall was the movement from a human nature that had all
the setting of soul and body interactions with divine
energy in their correct or normal positions. The
Fall caused a movement into a soul and body interactions that no
longer had correct settings but now had incorrect
settings. These new settings caused a break with divine,
uncreated energy and launched human nature into
situations where death, disease, and corruption became
the normal lot of life.
What
some call personality disorders (formerly called character
disorders) are really total person disorders. Our
mission is to give you the tools and insights to
holistically reorder your total person for a more
healthy, effective, and balanced way of life.
We all
have an Inner Person, sometimes called the Inner Man,
that needs healing as well as our outer person. Our
inner person is located in the heart. Over the years
this website has become more and more heart or
cardio-centric. Sin is a toxic metaphysical, non-local
force that has dramatic and negative health consequences
on our personalities and our bodies.
The sustainable
therapeutic program that we are presenting here not only
gives herbal recommendations to get proper nutrition for
the body but also delivers therapy to the soul so it can
begin "the quest for the lost settings" that,
if discovered and applied in a sustained manner, can
lead to eternal life and entrance into the Kingdom of
God here and now as well as in the
"afterlife".
Think
about it. The settings of our passions, which are
emotional energies, many times are preset to
hatred, anger, lust, greed, envy, and a whole host
of other negative emotions. The evidence is now
overwhelming that sustained, negative emotions can have
serious, negative consequences to our health.
If we
can reset these energies to positive states it can have
an immediate benefit to our overall holistic health
condition. Taking advantage of any spiritual techniques
or aids in this "quest", including the
Eucharist, or body and blood of Christ, should at least
be considered as part of your overall holistic health
investment portfolio.
Many materialists
say that we are only the interaction of matter and
energy. That all our thoughts, dreams, emotions, even
ourselves are merely the interactions of various
molecules and chemicals governed by the laws of nature.
They cite science as their bible and scientific findings
as their "proof" texts.
But
science has evolved quantum physics and the picture that
is emerging is anything but the fatalistic, mechanistic
universe of the materialistic model. Quantum dimensions,
which we will refer to as the non-local dimensions, are
gaining more and more adherents in the scientific
communities. Scientific instruments have
developed to such a degree that we can now objectively
see that we have an electro-magnetic energy body or aura
that we are generating all the time. The control
center for this electro-magnetic body is the heart (for
more on the elector-magnetic body and holistic health
energy, click here).
This website explores the question of
heart based Transpersonal Health. Can transpersonal non-local dimensions have an impact
on our health - both positive and negative? Many
will answer this question with cerebral based solutions,
but we base our health exploration model in the
heart. Developing Inter-dimensional health keeps
our body, mind, heart, and soul in
inter-dimensional balance.
Maintaining
balance - dynamic equilibrium (homeostasis) - in the face of life's continuing challenges needs to be
an important holistic health goal for everyone. Part
of our mission is to create awareness that centering
your attention in your heart with positive, sustained
feelings of gratitude and appreciation can have very
dynamic holistic health benefits that impact your total
person. Part of our mission is to raise awareness on
how we are using our attention on a daily basis, and how
this use or misuse influences our health.
Do you
know that you are a very powerful person? You are always
using your powers of attention, intention, imagination,
will, memory, and reason. Can the way you are using you
powers have an effect on your health? We know that they
can. You need to review on a daily basis how you have
been using your powers and what effects that use is
having on yourself and others. Can the way
you are using your elector-magnetic powers have an
effect on you health? Right use of
your attention is the first step that leads to all the
rest.
My
heart centered participation in the Divine Liturgy and the sacraments of
the Church were communicating the uncreated energy of grace that
was having a direct health impact on me. I
began to realize that my soul needed healing as well as my
body. There
are many even in Eastern Orthodoxy that might not be
aware of the health benefits of a heart centered participation
in the liturgy and the sacraments.
Understanding
the experience of Christianity from the heart revolutionized
my understanding of the Gospel message.
Orthodox Christianity recognizes that the soul is ill,
and it has preserved a therapeutic method of cure whole
and complete throughout the centuries. Many other
healing traditions assume that health is completely
related to body's well being while neglecting the soul's
health.
Our souls are closely linked to our
bodies There is a strong bond between our soul and our
body but also a clear distinction. Our person is made up
of body and soul, both of which coexist simultaneously
without any confusion. The intelligent soul is conjoined
with our physical bodies and so mixed with our bodies
that they form a single being.
The soul and the body
each act in accordance with its nature, they compose a
single person, with two complete natures. This composite
two-natured being is our
person and each of our natures functions in accordance
with its own particular powers. Your soul is what
actualizes the potentiality of your body.
My continuing research on
holistic health management strategies for body, mind, heart and soul again and again return to how we are using our
electro-magnetic energy of our power of attention and
emotional powers. We need to learn how to concentrate our scattered
attention energies holistically in the heart and focus the attention to
reorient and direct our emotional energies into sustained positive
emotions.
